The Technical Details ⚙️
HOW TO MEASURE
1. Inside the Window (Recess Fitting)
When fitting inside a window recess, we make the deductions for you to ensure a perfect finish. Use the following guide to install your wooden blinds

Give us the exact size of your window opening. We do the math for you.
Step 1: Measure the full width and height of the inside of your window recess.
Step 2: Enter those exact measurements into the order form.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do NOT make any deductions yourself. We will automatically subtract the necessary amount to ensure the brackets fit perfectly inside your window.
How it works: The fabric will always be slightly narrower than the window to leave room for the brackets.
Standard Fixings: Fabric will be 3.5cm narrower than the measurement you provide.
No-Drill Fixings: Fabric will be 4.7cm narrower than the measurement you provide.
In both cases, the total width (fabric + brackets) will match your inside recess window size perfectly.
EXAMPLE IF ORDERING NO DRILL : if your inside recess is 100cm wide, we will make the blind material to 95.3cm wide and then once the end fittings are applied the overall width will then be 100cm wide
PLEASE NOTE: If you have obstructions (like tiling) to ensure a precise fit, measure the narrowest point between any obstructions and use this as your width. We will then handle the necessary width deductions for the brackets automatically.
PLEASE BEAR THE ABOVE INFO IN MIND WHEN ORDERING FOR AN INSIDE RECESS AS THE BLIND FABRIC WILL VARY IN WIDTH DEPENDING ON WHAT TYPE OF FITTING YOU CHOOSE

2. Outside the Window (Exact Fitting)
We do not apply deductions to Exact size orders. We will make your blinds to the specific measurements you enter
EASYTURN NO DRILL NOT APPLICABLE FOR OUTSIDE THE WINDOW
You tell us exactly how wide you want the fabric to be.
Step 1: Measure your window opening.
Step 2: Add at least 7cm to the width (this allows a 3.5cm overlap on each side to block out light).
Step 3: Enter this final "plus-size" measurement into the order form.
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: We will make the fabric the exact width you order. However, the brackets will add an extra 3.5cm to the overall width. Please ensure you have enough wall space to accommodate the brackets on either side of the fabric.
For example, if your measurement is 100cm wide, we will make the blind material to 100cm wide and then once the end fittings are applied the overall width will then be 103.5cm wide.
3. Split Blinds (For Inside Recess Fitting)

1. The Width Measurement (Recess Size) Measure from the far left edge of the recess wall to your pencil split mark. Repeat this process for the right-hand blind (measuring from the split mark to the far right edge).
⚠️ Crucial Note for Recess Fits: When ordering, select "Recess Size." We will automatically make a small deduction to your provided widths to ensure the brackets fit perfectly.
2. The Drop Measurement Measure the height of your window recess in three places (left, centre, right). Use the smallest measurement as your final drop to ensure the blinds don't hit the sill.
4. Split Blinds (Outside the Window (Exact Fitting)

1. The Width Measurement (Exact Size) Decide how far past the window opening you want your blind to overlap. Measure from that outer starting point to your central pencil split mark. Repeat for the second blind.
2. The Drop Measurement Determine where you want the top of the blind to be mounted (above the window) and where you want the bottom bar to rest (usually past the windowsill). Measure the exact distance between these two points.
HOW TO INSTALL
FITTING TYPE
Recess or outside recess fitting?
When a window is not flush to the wall, a recess is created. This internal space in a room is rarely used during the day, unless the sill of the window is put to some use. Therefore, hanging a blind outside of the recess usually causes no problem in terms of lost space, but fitting inside will make the blind nearer to the window.
When deciding on mounting inside or outside recess, ensure that there are no obtruding objects (window catches, electrical sockets, tiles etc.) to hinder the operation of the blind.

What we do
INSIDE RECESS FIT
For an inside recess fit we deduct from the width measurement you provide us to ensure that the blind with the controls and brackets will fit the into the recess of your window.
Standard Fixings: Fabric will be 3.5cm narrower than the measurement you provide.
No-Drill Fixings: Fabric will be 4.7cm narrower than the measurement you provide.
EXAMPLE IF ORDERING NO DRILL : if your inside recess is 100cm wide, we will make the blind material to 95.3cm wide and then once the end fittings are applied the overall width will then be 100cm wide
OUTSIDE RECESS
You may not have a recessed window or for blackout purposes you may want to cover the entire window space. In these cases, this is the option to select.
The blind material will be made exactly to the sizes you give to us.
For example, if your measurement is 100cm wide, we will make the blind material to 100cm wide and then once the end fittings are applied the overall width will then be 103.5cm wide.
EASYTURN NO DRILL NOT APPLICABLE FOR OUTSIDE THE WINDOW
ROLL TYPE
ROLL TYPE
The blind can either roll from behind the roller or over the front of the roller. Typically, roller blinds are positioned so that the blind rolls from behind the top roller, especially for inside recess fit blinds so that they are as close to the window as possible.
However, if you have objects that protrude from the window, you may decide to roll the blind over the roller. This way, the blind will not be obstructed when it is pulled down over the window.

CONTROL TYPES
Remote control roller blinds are a perfect addition to the modern-day home or office. No longer seen as the exclusive luxury of the elite, remote control blinds offer a tangible solution to blind cord safety issues and of course those hard to reach areas.
-
Safety First: Say goodbye to the tangled mess of cords that pose a risk to children and pets. With remote control blinds, you're opting for a safer environment without compromising on style or functionality.
-
Convenience at Your Fingertips: Whether you're cozy in bed or in the middle of a movie marathon, adjust your blinds without moving an inch. Those hard-to-reach windows? They're now effortlessly accessible.
- 1 x Remote
- 1 x Pre installed motorised mechanism
- 1 x Charger
Key benefits of remote blinds:
- No Pull Cord
- Easy to Use
- No installation of motors etc, everything comes already installed into the blind ready to go
- Last approx 3 months before the motor needs charging.
CHILD SAFETY
All our blinds adhere to the BBSA’s strict child safety guidelines and meet the British and European safety standard EN 13120:2009 + A1:2014. If a child or vulnerable person will be using the room where the blind is installed, you MUST install the provided safety device to securely tie up the pull cord, keeping it out of reach of children, vulnerable individuals, and pets.
Even with the safety device fitted, we recommend moving beds, cots, and furniture away from any windows.
