Child Safety - Blinds Safety Legislation
What Does the Legislation Say?
Blinds must either be cord-free or equipped with child safety devices installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
While our blinds already include safety devices, the new legislation requires stricter testing methods and increased customer awareness through warning labels, instructions, and notices provided within our product packaging about the strangulation risk to young children.
What Types of Child Safety Devices Are Included with the Products?
The safety devices provided vary based on the type of blind and include:
- Chain Tensioning Device: Keeps chain/cord loops under continuous tension and secures them to the wall, preventing the formation of a loop.
Can I Buy Products Without Child Safety Devices?
All our roller blinds operated by pull cords include child safety devices
We also offer cord-free blinds, such as the EasyBlock Magnetic Blinds and our remote operated blinds.

I'm Worried About My Existing Blinds. What Can I Do to Make Them Safe?
Follow the product instructions and use the supplied child safety device. If the device isn't used regularly, test it and replace it if necessary.
Additionally, follow these tips to prevent harm to children:
- Keep blind cords out of children's reach.
- Move beds, cots, and furniture away from windows with blinds.
- Do not tie cords together and ensure they don't twist into a loop.
- Be aware that small parts can be a choking hazard if swallowed.
