The countdown to Christmas has begun!
The short, cold and often wet days of winter can sometimes make us feel down, but…as soon as we walk into an illuminated, decorated, sparkly, inviting, warm shop with Wizard, Slade, Cliff Richard, Wham! and even dear old Bing greeting us with their ‘Merry Christmas!’ sing-a-long songs, although we’ve heard them all a thousand times before, it’s comforting and welcoming… It’s tradition.
Call me old-fashioned, but I love it all, especially our family traditions. We all have them, don’t we? It’s such a warm feeling, (after the annual struggle of getting it all out of the loft!), when we open up the box of decs and start to unwrap all of our treasured Christmas bits. Each piece of ‘memory’ evokes such sentimental and happy emotions, making us feel good inside. The ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ bauble, for example. The ‘baby’ is now 22, (smile to self), but who cares? It’s tradition!!
